GAME DAY RECAP: October 25, 2025

North Shore Warriors (3) vs Delta Hockey Academy Black (1) Female U18 Prep

Back-to-back head-to-head matchups between the North Shore Warriors and Delta Hockey Academy Black Female U18 Prep squads last weekend saw one result occur twice; North Shore beat DHAB 2-0 on both Friday and Saturday of last weekend. Delta Black had won four of five heading into those two games, but now needed a result to avoid three straight losses. Delta consistently outshot North Shore throughout Saturday, but couldn’t beat Emma Ward with a go-ahead goal. Ward had shut out Delta Black in both games last weekend, and heading into Saturday, Ward had only conceded four goals in five games. North Shore carried a 1-0 lead into the back half of the second period, but finally, Addi McFegan scored DHAB’s first goal on Ward in the three straight head-to-head games. Delta Black continued their offensive pressure in the third period, but on 15 shots, couldn’t beat Ward. Peyton Mages struck on a power play for North Shore early in the third, and with some wind in their sails, followed it up with another less than five minutes later. Ward finished the game with 35 saves on 36 shots in all, and two points from Alexa Roberts (1G, 1A) helped North Shore over the finish line again for a third-straight tight-fought win over Delta Hockey Academy Black.

Okanagan Hockey Academy Black (1) vs Delta Hockey Academy Green (13) Female U18 Prep

Delta Hockey Academy Green’s Female U18 Prep squad are in the Okanagan Friday and Saturday of this weekend, and following a win over Okanagan Hockey Academy on Friday, the Okanagan Hockey Academy Black squad were the next opponent in their path. The game wasn’t much of a contest from the outset, with Emma Kohl’s (2G, 4A) goal merely 40 seconds into the first period only the launching points of DHAG’s dominant sixty-minute performance. Delta Green scored six in a first period that saw them outshoot OHAB 18-2. Delta scored six more in the second en route to an eventual 13-1 victory. Emma Biros was involved at every turn for Delta with her three goals and four assists, bringing her season total to 15 points in 10 games.

Prairie Hockey Academy (3) vs Calgary International Hockey Academy (6) U15

There’s a fatigue that sets in when you’re on the other side of an opponent who does nothing but throw rubber on the net. Goaltender aside, the defensive players needing to constantly back-check and battle in puck retrievals take their toll. Calgary International Hockey Academy’s U15 squad have been that team all season; in six games previous to Saturday, CIHA had at least 42 shots on net in every single game. They outshot Prairie 25-6 in the first period, and after Benjamin Vialaneix’s two goals to start the game, it was Prairie chasing the game from there on out. As valiant as Prairie’s comeback efforts were, CIHA ended up hitting the PHA net with 64 shots over three periods. Late in the second period, Jaxon Dalziel arrived for CIHA. Dalziel hadn’t yet scored in his six previous games this season, but after his primary assist in the first, Dalziel would rattle off a natural hat-trick. All three goals were assisted by both Jameson Booth and Ryder Davis, and Prairie’s comeback efforts were nullified.

Calgary International Hockey Academy (5) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (1) U15 Prep

Saturday was the first of back-to-back matchups between the Calgary International Hockey Academy and Northern Alberta Xtreme’s U15 Prep squads, and after a loss in their only game last weekend, CIHA were motivated to get back to their winning ways. NAX fought throughout the game, even outshooting CIHA 13-10 in the first, but were chasing the game from the outset. Eric Sexton scored 61 seconds into the hockey game, and Calgary IHA wouldn’t find themselves behind at all from there on out. Liam Nycholat’s goal at the end of the first period stood as the game winner, and Alexandre Montembeault’s 26 saves on 27 shots led Calgary IHA to the 5-1 win. The two teams play their rematch Sunday morning.

Edge School (4) vs Notre Dame Hounds (3) U17 Prep

After four straight wins to start the season, Edge School’s U17 Prep squad were beaten 5-3 by Pilot Mound, a game that remains their lone blemish on the schedule. A 4-3 win on Friday night over Prairie Hockey Academy started their weekend, preceding Saturday’s battle against the Notre Dame Hounds. The winless Hounds were outplayed throughout the game, but did what any team in that position hopes to do: shut the door and strike when the opportunity presents itself. Trent Probst (51/55) stopped all 22 first-period shots for Notre Dame, and Kane Folkersen made good on his chance to give the Hounds a 1-0 lead through one. However, once the second period rolled around, Edge finally broke through in a big way, and goals from Malcolm McLeod, Evan Lynch (1G, 1A), and Jack Boutillier gave Edge a 3-1 lead through two. Notre Dame’s best period was the third, and within the first five and a half minutes of the third,it  had rallied to tie the game at three. A pair of unlucky penalties from the Hounds later in the third presented Edge School the chance to break the lead, and it was a chance Tyler Carpenter took, scoring on the five-on-three to break the tie. Zach Henry (22/25) was the less busy of the two goaltenders, but still needed to shut the door at the end, and did so to help his team to a 4-3 win.

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (5) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (1) U17 Prep

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg’s U17 Prep team play just two games in October, and after a loss to Edge School in their opener, Saturday against Pilot Mound Hockey Academy was a game they’d be motivated to win without another contest on the docket until November 7. PMHA came in having won four straight, but after RHAW outshot RMHA 17-5 in the first period, they’d take the lead early in the second thanks to a Colton Ross (2G) powerplay goal. PMHA tied it, but Murphy Johnston and Ross would score at the end of the second and start of the third periods to open a 3-1 lead. A pair of powerplay goals later on settled the contest to give RHAW a 5-1 win.

St. George’s School (1) vs Delta Hockey Academy (4) U18 Prep

Delta Hockey Academy’s U18 Prep squad saw their streak of five straight victories to start the season snapped by the North Shore Warriors on Sunday, while on the flip side, St. George’s season started with a lone win before four straight losses. St. George’s had a good start to the game, but at every turn, Matthew Wong (35/36) shut the door in between the pipes for Delta. With Wong weathering the storm, Delta responded with offence of their own, leading 2-0 through the first period. Delta controlled the game from there, outshooting St. George’s 19-5 in the second, extending their lead further. Kishan Saggu scored Delta’s last two goals to get DHA back in the win column.

BWC Academy (4) vs Shawnigan Lake School (2) U18 Prep

BWC Academy in the U18 Prep division lost their opening game of the season at the hands of the formidable Edge School Mountaineers squad. Since, they’ve not only been undefeated but dominant, rattling off five straight wins. The closest BWC had come to defeat since their opener was against Shawnigan Lake School, who forced overtime, but ultimately fell 4-3. Shawnigan again proved themselves to be a formidable opponent, but BWC’s momentum has seen them play some near-unbeatable hockey. Charlie Robinson was the star of BWC’s show, with two primary assists in the first period, followed up by a buzzer-beating power-play goal at the end of the second to help BWC remain in the lead throughout constant Shawnigan pushback. Josh Wu stopped 25 of 27 in the win, and a crucial third-period goal from Kadyn O’Brien helped BWC over the finish line for a 4-2 win.

Ulysse Academie (8) vs King’s Edgehill School (2) East U18 Prep

After losing to Stanstead College in their opener, Ulysse Academie have been on cruise control as they rip through the rest of the Eastern U18 Prep division. They’d won five straight coming into the back-to-back head-to-head matchups with King’s Edgehill School. KES never stopped pushing back, but couldn’t stand in Ulysse’s way for long. David Allaire (2G, 2A), Alex Graveline (1G, 3A), Sam-Felix Poulin (1G, 2A), and Jordan Rancourt (3A) all notched three or more points for Ulysse in the game, and four goals from the squad in the third period helped Ulysse to the big 8-2 win.

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (3) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (6) U15

Throughout the U15 season to date, Pacific Coast Hockey Academy’s success has been defined by the production of its best players. As goes the top dogs, has gone the team, and this weekend followed that theme. PCHA’s offence was stifled on Friday, leading to RHA Kelowna prevailing 5-1. On the flip side, PCHA were firing on all cylinders come Saturday, with the usual suspects getting in on the fun. Koen Nicholas (2G, 1A) scored his first of two early, and wherever Nichols left off, Austin Murray (3G, 1A) picked up. Murray and Nichols combined for five of PCHA’s six goals, with the two players now bringing their season point totals to 16 and 17, respectively, in just eight games apiece. PCHA prevailed 6-3 by game’s end.

South Alberta Hockey Academy (2) vs Edge School (3) Female U18 Prep

South Alberta Hockey Academy and Edge School’s Female U18 Prep squads play four straight head-to-head games in October, and heading into Saturday, SAHA had won the first two of the four-game series. Through two periods, it looked to be SAHA’s game again, with Sara Murdoch and Teylor Crocker goals leading the way into the third period with a 2-1 lead. Lila Deis (1G, 1A) scored her first of the season early in the third to tie the game for Edge. Despite SAHA pouring on pressure down the stretch, they failed to score on both of their late powerplay chances, and Edge struck. Callie Paull scored her first goal of the season in darling fashion with 61 seconds left on the clock in the third, and Edge held on to win 3-2. Jenna Ring (29/31) made 11 saves on 11 shots in the third period to secure victory.

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (7) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (0) Female U18 Prep

The Female U18 Prep contingent of RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg has seen their season swing back and forth between not just victory and defeat, but wins and losses by high scores in both directions. RHAW lost 7-1 to OHA Edmonton on Friday, so naturally, that meant a big win was in order come Saturday. Rowyn Street (4G, 2A) had a hat-trick by the time the game had even reached its halfway point. Mars McHenry wasn’t too busy in the RHAW net, stopping all 15 Northern Alberta Xtreme shots, and helping RHAW back into the win column with a 7-0 victory.

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (0) vs OHA Edmonton Female (13) U18 Prep

It’s difficult to point to anything done or not done by Pilot Mound Hockey Academy’s Female U18 Prep team that either caused or could have avoided the defeat to OHA Edmonton on Saturday. OHAE had won seven straight to start their season coming in, and Avery Sam (3G, 1A) scoring 32 seconds to put her team in front indicated Saturday wouldn’t be any different than what’s come before. OHAE’s Svana Sveinbjornson started the season slowly with just one point in her first four games, but with a three-game point streak coming in, she led the way with a huge night. Sveinbjornson scored a hat-trick and six points to help OHAE to the 13-0 win.

Edge School (4) vs Notre Dame Hounds (1) U15 Prep

Edge School’s U15 Prep side remained unbeaten in regulation on Saturday, extending their win streak to five straight. The win was by no means straightforward; in fact, Notre Dame outshot Edge 22-11 in the second, 15-13 in the third, and 46-39 overall, but Cohen Spencer starred with 45 saves for Edge. The ever-present duo of Matteo Dufour (2G) and Brody Antignani (1G, 2A) both had huge days again to help Edge to the 4-1 victory.

STAR Hockey Academy (1) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (18) U15

After Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy bested STAR Hockey Academy 15-1 in the U15 division yesterday, expectations for a close contest in Saturday’s rematch shouldn’t have been high. The two teams play again on Sunday, and unfortunately for STAR, game two of the three-in-three wouldn’t get any better. CDA got nine points from Brody Finley (1G, 8A), seven from Reed Witham (5G, 2A) and five, including a hat-trick from Jagger Clark (3G, 2A), in an eventual 18-1 Coeur d’Alene win.

Delta Hockey Academy White (7) vs North Shore Warriors (1) U15

Ryan Romano and Sajan Chatha (2G, 1A) would get the ball rolling for Delta White early in the first, building a 2-0 lead heading into the second. However, Max Darlow would score on a tremendous individual effort to bring the Warriors back to within one. Delta White would not succumb to the pressure and score a mere 20-seconds later as Grayson Sears (1G, 2A) net his third of the season. From there on out, it was all Delta White. Chatha would later add his second of the afternoon while Seven Xie (4A) racked up four helpers from the blueline. Tyler Rydberg (17/18) picked up the win between the pipes, making 17-saves in the outing.

RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (5/SO) vs Delta Hockey Academy (4) U15 Prep

Braelyn Nunley (2G) ignited a dream start for Delta, scoring only 12-seconds into the first period. In the second, Nunley would strike early again, doubling their lead over RHA Kelowna. Delta would later see some powerplay chances. However, Trent Keenan spoiled the party, leaning into a slapshot on a clear cut breakaway to get RHA Kelowna on the board with a shorthanded goal. Soon after, Will Tidsbury (3G) would score his team leading seventh goal of the season to tie this contest up at 2-2 before the second intermission. Eli Vickers would restore Delta’s lead with another opening goal in the final frame, but Tidsbury was right on his tail, once again tying this one up. Halfway through the third, disaster would strike for RHA Kelowna as Taegeon Park’s clearing attempt would find its way into the back of the net, once again restoring Delta’s advantage. However, Tidsbury would play hero once again, tying this up at 4-4 and forcing an eventual shootout. Delta and RHA Kelowna’s first two shooters would each score but neither of their third shooters could strike to put this one to bed. Into the fifth round of the shootout, Max Davis (58/62) would shut the door on Ronan Gow, while Ben Tyssen would make no mistake, burying the game winner for RHA Kelowna in a massive comeback, handing Delta only their second loss of the year. Davis played a crucial role in this affair, racking up an astounding 58-saves in the shootout win.

Ontario Hockey Academy (2) vs Mount Academy (0) East U17 Prep

Following a scoreless first, OHA would capitalise on a powerplay chance as Mykyta Staskevych netted his third of his past two games. Mount would begin to see their fair share of powerplays after OHA garnered a 5-minute major. However, Matvii Kulish (20/20) would keep the door shut. Alexy Garneau would add a second for OHA in the third while Kulish would remain perfect, racking up 20-saves for his first career CSSHL win and shutout!

Northern Alberta Xtreme (0) vs Edge School (4) U17

Only 51-seconds into play, an off-guard wrist shot from Trent Caines got Edge School on the scoresheet. We wouldn’t see our second goal of the match until the early stages of the second as Curtis Troeger (1G, 1A) put away his fifth of the campaign. Jayden Maschke (1G, 1A) would cram one five hole later in the frame to put Edge up 3-0. In the third, Ben MacBey would put home first first of the year in style, roofing one shortside to seal off an Edge School victory. Chase Miles (27/27) improved his season record to 4-0-0-0 as he stopped all 27-shots for his first shutout of the season.

BWC Academy (8) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (5) U17

BWC Academy’s offence was cooking in the first period, nabbing three unanswered goals including Kaz Westcott’s (1G, 1A) under a minute into play. PCHA would give BWC Academy a run for their money early in the second as Trent Porter (2G, 1A) and Jackson Squire brought the Sea Devils back to within one. However, BWC Academy would strike back with a quick pair of their own as Ben Bury (1G, 1A) and Jaidyn Bhandari (2G) restored the three goal advantage. Hudson Elke would get one back for PCHA before the end of the second. Easton Coupland (2G, 1A) would strike early for BWC Academy in the third, erasing Elke’s late tally in the past frame, but another quick burst from the Sea Devils would make this contest close once more as Porter and Sebastian Quast brought it back to within one. The Sea Devils would pull their goalie soon after Quast’s tally, but BWC Academy would go on to prevail, netting two empty netters to seal up an eight goal outing on the Island.

OHA Edmonton (0) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (5) U17

OHA Edmonton’s offense has been a staple all season long, but it could not find an answer in this away game against Prairie Hockey Academy. Soren Hayden (1G, 3A) and Reid Kawaguchi would score the opening pair for PHA in the opening frame while Jake Myhre (2G, 1A) would score their next two, including a dazzling individual effort and a shorthanded goal early in the third. Ivey Vermeulen would add his fourth of the year off a quick faceoff win, capping off a 5-0 victory. Hayden picked up four points in the tidy victory, including three primary assists while Conner Aldag (25/25) was perfect in goal, steering aside all 25 of OHA Edmonton’s shots.

BWC Academy (4) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (2) U15

BWC Academy would maintain most of the pressure in the opening frame, outshooting OHA 10-5 and being rewarded with the opening goal off the stick of Nolan Gallagher (1G, 1A). More or less the same story in the second as BWC Academy kept ramping up the pressure, but were only able to sneak one more past OHA, this time credit to Callum Beatty off a deflection. However, OHA would break through early in the third as Levi Leitner scored from a sharp angle to cut the deficit to one. Later in the frame Alex Iaichkin (1G, 1A) would nab his tenth of the season to restore BWC Academy’s two goal lead. A last ditch effort from Lance Bryant would make things a one goal game in the final minute of play by an empty netter from Cooper McBride sealed this one off for BWC Academy.

STAR Hockey Academy (0) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (7) U17

CDA’s offense came out to play early in this contest as they bagged six unanswered goals in the first period alone including a powerplay goal from Blake Celski (2G, 2A) and a shorthanded tally from Logan Madrid (2G, 2A) to wrap up the period. Wesley Padilla added CDA’s final goal in the second, a wicked wrister coming off a breakaway. Gunner Podollan (27/27) recorded the shutout in goal, racking up 27 saves for his third career CSSHL shutout.

South Alberta Hockey Academy (3) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (5)  U17 Prep

Vancouver Giants prospect Daniel Makovetskiy opened the scoring at the halfway point of the first, shortly followed by his teammate Seth Kshyk (1G, 2A) on the powerplay to propel NAX to a 2-0 lead. SAHA would fight back in the second, nabbing a quick pair themselves with credit to Cole Siewert and Carter Gilchrist. However, NAX’s Reilly Mulloy (2G, 1A) would close out the period with two goals to restore NAX’s two goal spread. Briggs Fabro would get one back for SAHA in the third, but they couldn’t capitalise with the empty cage, with Eli Piquette burying the EN goal.

Yale Hockey Academy (8) vs St. George’s School (4) U15

Yale would take sole lead in the first with a lone goal coming off the stick of Carter MacLean (1G, 2A). However, Yale’s offense would strike hard in the second, scoring four unanswered. Asher Jin (1G, 1A) would get one back for the Saints but Hudson Burns was right there to restore the five goal cushion. St. George’s would get their fair share back in the third but it was too much to overcome. MacLean, Sebastien Sibley (1G, 2A) and Brady Barrett (1G, 2A) would all lead the charge with three point outings while Matthew Tang (1G, 1A) supplied two points from the blueline.

Yale Hockey Academy (0) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (7) U18 Prep

All cylinders were firing for PCHA in every shape and form in their late night affair with Yale. Elliott Hill (4G, 2A) would score the Sea Devils first two and assisted Roman Lavery’s (2G, 3A) later in the frame. In the second, the same duo would strike once again with Hill acquiring two and Lavery adding another. In the midst of all this scoring, Parker Parrish (45/45) was also putting on a night to remember in goal. The Calgary, AB native posted an immense 45 saves in the 7-0 win for PCHA, one upping his 44 save performance last week against St. George’s!

Calgary International Hockey Academy (5) vs Prairie Hockey Academy (1) U17 Prep

T’was a game Calgary IHA Head Coach Sean McGovern must have loved as their powerplay struck for four unanswered goals to ignite the first period ablaze. Tomas Figura (2G) and Keegan Brown (1G, 1A) scored the first two on the man advantage while Nicholas Edgar (2G, 1A) wired home the next two from the point. Figura would add one more at even strength before the end of the period. That was all the scoring Calgary IHA would put out in this contest with PHA forward Ryley Lessard spoiling Colton Lutz’s (15/16) shutout in the second.

BWC Academy (6) vs Okanagan Hockey Academy (2) U15 Prep

Saturday’s Featured Game displayed some immaculate goaltending from OHA’s 2012-born goalkeeper, Oakley Speckman (40/46). The West Kelowna, BC native may have been in between the pipes for the loss, but the young goalkeeper kept this game tight with massive saves at every corner. Cohen Short would open the scoring for OHA early in the first but Kristian Lima and Ryson Barker would put BWC Academy ahead through twenty. In the second, Kenzo Gibson (1G, 1A) would waltz over the blueline before wiring one home, extending BWC Academy’s lead to 3-1. In the meantime, BWC Academy was pouring on the pressure, including a 4-on-1 opportunity. Everything else in the frame was spoiled by Speckman, stopping 16 of 17 shots in the frame. To close the second, Cooper de Wal would get a lucky bounce and have one squeak past Jordan Bigelow (15/17) to make things a one goal game. In the third, it was Logan Chang’s (2G, 2A) turn to show us what he’s made of, scoring back-to-back goals from the point for BWC Academy to go along with his earlier acquired pair of helpers. Ethan Kartadinata would strike late putting this one out of reach for OHA, closing off an exciting Featured Game in the W column for BWC Academy.

Okanagan Hockey Academy (0) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (1/SO) U18 Prep

Okanagan Hockey Academy and Coeur d’Alene’s Saturday tilt was a goaltending spectacle like no other between Bennett Byers (57/57) and Linden Sobocan (27/27). Through three periods of play and overtime, not a single skater was able to find the back of the net, leading to the rare ‘double shutout’ for Byers and Sobocan. In the shootout, Seattle Thunderbirds prospect Ewen Willers would strike for the only goal of the game while Byers went 3/3, stoning each OHA shooter, picking up one of the craziest shutouts we’ll see all season. This is Byers second career CSSHL shutout which came last year against Notre Dame. However, that shutout only featured 28 saves. Truly an evening the Calgary, AB native and the CDA program will never forget!

Okanagan Hockey Academy (1) vs North Shore Warriors (0) U17

Following the trend of outstanding late night goaltending, North Shore’s Ben Boudreau (55/56) put on an absolute show in net, stopping 55 shots through three periods of play, including a staggering 40 through the first two periods of play. Boudreau was absolutely perfect until Kaden Ebbett struck on the powerplay halfway through the third period. North Shore would pull Boudreau late in the third, but the Warriors could not find an answer for Hudson Swankhuizen (18/18) as he collected 18 saves for his first career CSSHL shutout.
